COUNTY FAST BOWLER DILLON MAKES EARLY BREAKTHROUGH AS ADELAIDE SET UP VICTORY BID

Worcestershire fast bowler, Dillon Pennington, made an early breakthrough to boost his club, Adelaide CC’s hopes of victory in the SACA Premier Cricket first grade encounter against Southern District at the Glandore Oval.

Pennington struck towards the end of the opening day of the two day fixture after Adelaide had set a daunting target of 407 in the two-day fixture.

The former England Under-19 player took the new ball and broke through in his third over when dismissing David Sboro (3) who was caught at slip.

Pennington ended the day with 1-9 from his four overs and will be looking to play a key role next weekend when Southern District resume on 22-1.

He has now taken 10 wickets for Adelaide at an average of 18.10 and has an overall analysis of 38-4-181-10.

Adelaide totalled an impressive 406-9 declared from 85.3 overs after choosing to bat with openers Ben Pengelley (180) and William Patton (74) putting on 173 in impressive style.

Captain Josh Pengelley then pressed home the advantage with a fine 62.

This is Pennington’s first two-day fixture for Adelaide and the SACA Premier Cricket first grade is a mixture of 50 over games and matches spread over two weekends.
