Worcestershire CCC paceman, Pat Brown, is hoping it will be a case of third time lucky after linking up with Peshawar Zalmi for the initial stages of their Pakistan Super League campaign.
Brown has twice been signed up to play T20 cricket abroad after his superb performances for Worcestershire Rapids in the Vitality Blast, only to have his hopes dashed by injury.
He was set to play for Sylhet Sixers in the 2018-2019 Bangladesh Premier League after taking 31 wickets – the second-highest ever tally in a T20 season in England – for the Rapids on their way to winning the 2018 Blast.
Brown was then due to play for Melbourne Stars in the 2019-2020 Big Bash as Dale Steyn’s replacement.
It came on the back of another successful campaign for the Rapids that saw them reach Vitality Blast finals day for the second year running and come close to retaining the title.
But the good news is Brown is now fit and in contention for Peshawar Zalmi’s opening match against Quetta Gladiators in Karachi on Friday (2pm start).
He did play five matches in the T10 League in November 2019 for Karnataka Tuskers in Abu Dhabi.
