BUSY WINTER OF T2O CRICKET FOR WORCESTERSHIRE 2021 SIGNING MATTHEW WADE

Worcestershire CCC members and supporters will have plenty of opportunities to watch the 2021 overseas signing, Matthew Wade, in T20 action this winter.

Wade has been named in Australia’s 15 strong squad for the ICC T20 World Cup in Oman and the UAE between October 17 and November 14.

The 33-year-old will then participate in the 11th edition of the Big Bash League in Australia from December 5 to January 28, with both tournaments being televised.

Wade, who is available to play all formats for Worcestershire next summer, has confirmed his long term commitment in the BBL to Hobart Hurricanes.

The wicket-keeper-batsman captains the Hurricanes and has signed a contract extension with them until 2024.

Left-hander Wade has been in prolific form for the Hurricanes since joining them for the start of BBL/07

He was second top run-scorer in BBL/08 with 592 runs and in BBL/09 averaged 50.14, including 130 not out against Adelaide Strikers, the second-highest individual score in the tournament’s history.

Wade was only available for three games in BBL/10 but had a strike rate of 187.50 and smashed 86 off 44 balls in a win over champions Sydney Sixers.
