FOUR WICKET HAUL FOR JOSH BAKER AFTER EARNING YOUNG LIONS CALL-UP

Josh Baker produced a four-wicket burst after being selected to play for Young Lions ‘A’ against Young Lions ‘B’ in a 50 over match at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough.

The Worcestershire CCC off spinner continued the promising form he showed at New Road with a deadly burst in a high-scoring encounter.

The Academy product joined up with the Young Lions after playing his part in the LV=Insurance County Championship win over Leicestershire at New Road.

He picked up four wickets in the space of just 14 balls during the final three overs of his spell as Young Lions ‘B’ chased a 406 target.

Baker’s efforts reduced Young Lions ‘B’ from 337-4 to 367-8 despite 185 from Warwickshire’s Jacob Bethell.

But Young Lions’ B’ still managed to chase down their massive target and win by one wicket.

Baker finished with figures of 10-0-66-4 after ripping through the middle order.

Earlier, Yorkshire’s William Luxton had scored 134 for Young Lions ‘B’ out of a total of 405-6.

The sides met again 24 hours later, and this time Baker was wicketless and finished with 10-0-66-0 in another high-scoring game.

Young Lions ‘B’ totalled 351-9 and, despite another century from Luxton, Young Lions ‘A’ were bowled out for 339 in 48.1 overs.
