Tom Fell and triallist Tom Cornall led a strong Worcestershire Seconds fightback after they had been forced to follow on in the Second Eleven Championship match with Yorkshire Seconds at Scarborough.
The second wicket pair put together an unbroken stand of 91 with Fell unbeaten on 53 from 71 balls and seven boundaries.
Triallist Cornall ended on 36 not out from 70 deliveries as Worcestershire Seconds closed on 95-1 from 26 overs.
Yorkshire had resumed on 440-4 and opted to extend their first innings into the third day.
Triallist George Burrows, who played twice for Lancashire in last year’s Bob Willis Trophy, made the first breakthrough of the day.
Ben Birkhead (25) was caught at deep fine leg by Josh Dickenson.
Zain-UI-Hassan claimed his second wicket when Tom Loten (27) was caught behind by Henry Cullen
Yorkshire immediately declared at 505-6 from 123.2 overs with Ul-Hassan having figures of 18.2-6-39-2, Dickenson 11-1-44-1, Gibbon 28-4-107-1 and Burrows 23-1-123-1.
Worcestershire encountered early problems with three wickets falling in the space of seven balls.
Ismail Mohammed (0), Fell (0) and Taylor Cornall (1) were dismissed with only a single on the board.
After the departure of Jacques Banton (14), there was a stand of 45 between Aadil Ali and Zain Ul Hassan.
Ali played positively in making 45 off 57 balls before he was fifth out after edging to first slip.
Worcestershire slumped to 82-7 before Ul-Hassan featured in another useful partnership of 47 for the eighth wicket with Gibbon.
Ul-Hassan was eventually eighth out at 129 – caught at third slip – after making a determined 29 in more than two-and-a-half hours before Worcestershire were dismissed for 135 in 48.5 overs.
Gibbon remained unbeaten on 33 from 81 balls with three boundaries.
Worcestershire followed on and quickly lost Mohammed for a single but then came the fightback from Cornall and Fell.
