Worcestershire Seconds were on the receiving end of two of their former players on the opening day of their final Second Eleven Championship match of 2021 with Yorkshire at Scarborough.

New Road Academy product Will Fraine, who played Second Eleven cricket, and ex first-teamer, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, scored centuries and shared in an opening stand of 270 in 55.3 overs.

Worcestershire captain Pat Brown elected to bowl first on a green-tinged pitch and used nine bowlers before bad light halted play with the total 341-2 from 86 overs.

Ben Gibbon bowled an good first spell with the new ball and finished with figures of 13-4-29-0, and seamer Zain Ul-Hassan emerged from the day with excellent figures of 1-31 from 15 overs.

But paceman Mitchell Stanley was only able to deliver one over before leaving the field with an ankle problem.

The stand was broken when Fraine on 122 was run out, attempting a second run to third man off Ismail Mohammed.

Kohler-Cadmore advanced to 136 but then pushed forward to good delivery, which came back into him, and he was bowled.

Brown shared the new ball with Gibbon and bowled 16 overs for 52 overs, with all-rounder Jacques Banton having identical figures in the other bowler to share the bulk of the workload.
