D’OLIVEIRA MAKING HIS MARK IN PCA RANKINGS AFTER FINE ALL-ROUND SUMMER

Brett D’Oliveira’s excellent all-round season for Worcestershire CCC is reflected in the latest Professional Cricketers’ Association Most Valuable Player rankings.

D’Oliveira has made valuable contributions with the bat and ball in all formats and in the LV=Insurance County Championship has developed this summer into a key member of the attack alongside the four seamers and, latterly, emerging spinner Josh Baker.

He is currently ranked 10th in the Overall Men’s Domestic MVP ratings, which takes in the LV=Insurance County Championship, Vitality Blast and Royal London Cup.

D’Oliveira has amassed 367.91 points made up of 185.02 for batting, 142.88 for bowling and 26.00 for fielding.

It is a splendid achievement to be in the top ten of the many hundreds of players who play the professional game each summer.

Ed Barnard is next best placed in 22nd spot (326.09 points), with Jake Libby placed 24th (324.74 points).

When breaking the competitions down, D’Oliveira is also the best placed Worcestershire player in the Vitality Blast in eighth spot (152.47 points) and the Royal London Cup in 22nd position (82.62 points).

In the County Championship, Libby, in 18th spot (208.88 points), leads the way of the Worcestershire players.

The PCA MVP rankings is a unique algorithm developed initially in 2007 by the PCA and the players to identify the most influential players in the game.
