CULLEN AND DICKENSON HELPS UNDER-18S TO SALVAGE DRAW AT KIDDERMINSTER

Henry Cullen struck 74 to help Worcestershire Under-18s salvage a draw from their ECB County Competitions Group 2 match with Derbyshire Under-18s at Kidderminster.

The wicket-keeper batsman enabled Worcestershire to recover from their overnight 126-5 to reach 284 all out from 103.2 overs and take the game out of Derbyshire’s reach.

Cullen was given good support by Oliver Cox (34) in a stand of 63 for the sixth wicket.

He was eventually seventh out with the total on 205 after striking 11 fours in his 121 ball innings.

Dickenson replaced Cullen at the wicket by who dug in for two and a quarter hours to score a defiant 31 not out from 105 balls.

Cameron Jones helped him put on 31 for the last wicket.

Derbyshire played out time and reached 88-2 from 23 overs, with Harry Darley, 5-3-6-2, taking both wickets.

Worcestershire Sub Academy went down by six wickets to Isle Of Wight on the second and final day of their fixture at Coombswood CC.

The visitors declared 44 behind on 173-8 and then reduced Worcestershire to 35-3.

But Sebastian Scott, with an unbeaten 80 off 102 balls with 12 fours, and Haris Khan, 62 off 105 deliveries with 11 boundaries, added 135 for the fourth wicket.

Isle Of Wight were left a 229 target and, despite two runouts, achieved victory in 50.3 overs. Fred Hanson and Ben Sutton picked up one wicket apiece.
