WORCESTERSHIRE CCC PATHWAY PLAYER FIN GOODMAN HITS CENTURY

Opener Fin Goodman scored a superb century for Worcestershire CCC Sub Academy on the opening day of the two-day fixture against Staffordshire CCC at Stourbridge CC.

Goodman, part of the Worcestershire pathway for the past year, struck 141 off 182 balls with 17 fours after Staffordshire won the toss and opted to field.

He put on 83 for the first wicket with Sam Clements (37) and 91 for the fourth wicket with Arjan Barard (32).

Goodman, who plays club cricket for Worcester CC, added a further 57 with Amaan Edavalath (22 not out).

He was finally fifth out with the total on 246 in the 60th over, at which point the home side declared.

Worcestershire CCC Coach Andy Sutton said: “Fin batted very well. He is a right-hander who has been scoring a fair number of runs this summer, and this was another good knock. He is Worcester born and bred.”

Staffordshire openers Archie Bridgwood (38 not out) and Yumeth Athauda (57 not out) put on 119 in 30 overs without being parted by the close.
