HAYNES AND LEACH MAKING A BIG IMPRESSION IN ROYAL LONDON CUP

Worcestershire Rapids head into the second half of the Royal London Cup, with the second highest run-scorer and the second highest six-hitter in the competition, both part of their team.

Jack Haynes has amassed 304 runs from his four knocks at an average of 76, while Club Captain Joe Leach has struck seven sixes.

Haynes has put together scores of 77, 59, 153 and 15 in what have been his first ever four competitive knocks in List A cricket.

Only Durham’s Graham Clark has amassed more runs, 349, at the competition’s halfway stage.

Haynes’ 153 versus Essex is also the highest individual score in the tournament this summer, ahead of Clark’s 141 against Kent and 140 versus Gloucestershire.

Leach has struck seven sixes, all of them in the memorable 88 off just 51 balls in the victory over Kent at New Road.

It represented Leach’s highest score in List A cricket.

Ryan Patel of Surrey with ten sixes is the only player to have cleared the ropes more often than the Rapids all-rounder.

Brett D’Oliveira, Tom Fell and Haynes have all hit three sixes apiece for the Rapids.
