SHIRT AUCTION IN AID OF ST. RICHARD’S HOSPICE RAISES £3,630

Worcestershire CCC’s auction of signed shirts to boost funds for St. Richard’s Hospice, the Club’s 2021 Official Charity Partner, has raised the magnificent total of £3,630.

All the shirts, bearing the St. Richard’s Hospice logo, worn by the Worcestershire Rapids squad during their Vitality Blast triumph over Leicestershire Foxes last month were amongst those to be auctioned off.

But England Women’s cricketers also played their part with the signed match jersey donated from the ODI versus India at New Road.

Two Rapids shirts signed by the entire team attracted the most significant bids, with both of them fetching £500.

The highest bid for the individually signed shirts was for the one of Rapids all-rounder Brett D’Oliveira (£275), closely followed by Rapids Captain and wicket-keeper, Ben Cox.

The shirt of Rapids record wicket-taker, Daryl Mitchell, brought in an offer of £199 with overseas player Ben Dwarshuis (£150) next in line ahead of the signed England Women’s jersey (£135).

David Hoskins, Head of Worcestershire CCC’s Commercial and Operations, said: “Thank you to evertone who bought into this auction in aid of a great cause in St. Richard’s Hospice.

“To raise more than £3,500 is excellent, and the hospice is delighted with this contribution which will provide additional funds to support their splendid work in the local community.

“Also, a big thank you to Morgan Motor Company, our main club sponsor, for so generously handing over its shirt sponsorship for the Leicestershire game to St. Richard’s Hospice which enabled us to raise funds via the auction.”
