ENGLAND WOMEN GIVE SUPPORT TO AUCTION IN AID OF ST. RICHARD’S HOSPICE

England Women’s cricketers are adding their support to Worcestershire CCC’s auction to raise funds for St. Richard’s Hospice, the Club’s 2021 Official Charity Partner.

An England women’s match jersey, signed by all of the squad in action against India at New Road in the weekend Royal London ODI, is available to be bid for by Worcestershire members and supporters.

A host of star names, including England captain Heather Knight and Worcestershire Women’s Rapids spinner Sarah Glenn, are amongst the signatures in this excellent addition to the auction.

It adds to the signed shirts, bearing the St. Richard’s Hospice logo, worn by Worcestershire the Rapids in their Vitality Blast win over Leicestershire Foxes at New Road last month, which are also auctioned.

The shirt of Rapids captain and long-serving wicket-keeper Ben Cox has already been auctioned off for £250, and many others are attracting sizeable bids.

England Women’s Captain Heather Knight said, “We always love playing in Worcester at New Road, and it’s great to be able to donate to a local charity in St Richard’s Hospice.

David Hoskins, Worcestershire CCC’s Head of Commercial and Operations, added: “It is brilliant that the England Women players have donated a signed shirt to the auction to support St. Richard’s Hospice.

“I am sure this will be a popular item for members and supporters to bid for in addition to the signed Rapids shirts.”

The initial chance to raise funds for St. Richard’s Hospice in this manner came about after Morgan Motor Company, the County’s main Club sponsor, generously handed over its shirt sponsorship to St. Richard’s Hospice for the Foxes game.

The Hospice logo was displayed across the shirts of the Rapids players, and all money raised from the auction will provide additional funds to support the work of St. Richard’s Hospice in the local community.
