RICHARDSON OVERSEEING SECONDS AT NORTHAMPTON AND KADEER WORKING WITH SENIOR SQUAD

Worcestershire CCC Bowling Coach Alan Richardson is overseeing this week’s Second Eleven Championship match with Northamptonshire Seconds at Wantage Road.

Seconds Coach Kadeer Ali is broadening his experience by working alongside Head Coach Alex Gidman during the build-up to Thursday’s LV=Insurance County Championship match with Derbyshire at New Road.

Richardson is taking the opportunity to cast his eye over and work with the County’s up and coming bowlers and those currently not involved in the first-team squad.

Adam Finch, Pat Brown, Charlie Morris and Mitchell Stanley are all part of the squad selected for the game at Northampton.

Richardson said: “We’ve taken the opportunity to exchange roles for a few days in the past and, going back to the days when Kevin Sharp was Head Coach, myself and Alex worked with the white ball team during that period.

“It is excellent for me to spend a bit of time with the lads in the Seconds, and, even though the weather has so far been not great, we’ve been able to get in some valuable work.

“There are some experienced lads like Adam, Pat and Charlie, but also it’s good to have a look at and work with someone like Mitchell.

“Equally, I’m sure Kadeer will relish the chance to do some work with the first-team squad alongside Alex this week, and that will help to enhance his coaching education.”

The Seconds are hoping to finally taste some action today (Wednesday) after the wash-out of the opening two days at Northampton.
