Worcestershire Women’s Rapids spinner Sarah Glenn produced a superb performance to help England launch their T20I Series with a seven-wicket win over New Zealand in Wellington.
Glenn finished with the excellent figures of 2-11 from her four overs – including a maiden – as the home side were bowled out for 96 in 19.4 overs.
The 21-year-old has now taken 24 wickets at an average of 12.04 in 16 T20I appearances since making her international debut 15 months ago.
Glenn, who had already helped England win the ODI Series 2-1, bowled her overs in one devastating spell.
The third delivery of her first over accounted for New Zealand opener Hayley Jensen (13), who departed to a sharp catch by Mady Villiers.
Glenn’s second scalp came from the fourth ball of her final over when she bowled Maddy Green (3).
New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals, and then England openers Tammy Beaumont (25) and Danni Wyatt (33) put on 59 before England achieved victory with four overs to spare.
