RAPIDS SPINNER GLENN HELPS ENGLAND SEAL ODI SERIES

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids spinner Sarah Glenn helped England clinch their ODI Series in New Zealand by picking up two wickets during a seven-wicket win in Dunedin.

Glenn dismissed wicket-keeper Katey Martin and pace bowler Jess Kerr as England sealed a 2-0 series win.

New Zealand staged a recovery from 34-5 to reach 192 all out in 49.5 overs, but England recovered from 12-2 thanks to Tammy Beaumont and Natalie Sciver’s century stand.

Glenn, who bowled four-over spells, first came into the attack for the 21st over and struck in her second over when Beaumont caught Martin (17).

She was again entrusted to bowl at the death of the innings, and was rewarded in the penultimate over when Kerr (28) departed to a catch by Fran Wilson.

Glenn finished with figures of 8-0-37-2 to follow her 1-18 from 6.1 overs in the opening game and has now taken 11 wickets in her five ODIs to date.

New Zealand struck two early blows, but Beaumont (72 not out) and Sciver (63) added 103 before Amy Jones helped them over the finishing line in 37.4 overs with an unbeaten 46.
