BEN DAVIES TRAVELS TO SRI LANKA TO PROVIDE PHYSIO SUPPORT DURING THE TEST SERIES

Worcestershire CCC’s Head of Sports Science and Medicine, Ben Davies, has received further England recognition.

Davies is providing physio support for England’s current tour of Sri Lanka and flew out with the squad at the weekend.

It follows on from Davies being appointed physiotherapist for the England Lions tour of Australia 12 months ago.

He also assisted with the England senior squad during their biosecure bubble at the Ageas Bowl last summer.

Worcestershire Cricket Steering Group Group Chairman, Paul Pridgeon, said: “We are delighted for Ben. As a club, we are pleased for him because it is a culmination of the hard work he does.

“He is very well thought of in the game and you don’t get called up for that kind of position unless you are very well thought of and also very good at your job.

“He had the experience with the Lions last winter and working with some of the England camps in the bubble at Southampton last year and this is further deserved recognition.

“This is his first involvement with a senior England playing series.”

Davies has spent more than a decade at New Road, initially working as second-team physio before moving into his current role.
