CLUB UPDATE

dear members,

yesterday the ecb announced that first-class counties (“fcc”) have agreed to play both red-ball and white-ball cricket during the summer’s shortened men’s domestic season.

a majority vote was reached at a meeting of the fcc chairs yesterday, following approval by the ecb board last month for the new season to commence on 1st august 2020.

the agreement by the fcc’s will now be passed on for ecb approval, after which details of the new fixture schedule will be drawn up and then announced.

we would like to once again thank our members for their positive engagement following the announcement of our 2020 season membership options. we have now been contacted by over 40% of our membership and 88% have continued to support the club through these challenging times. thank you.

option 1, which is the exclusive 2020 membership, is the default option (which requires no action to be taken before the deadline date of 15th july 2020) and includes a 2020 digital subscription package. this offers, amongst many other benefits, live streaming of all warm up fixtures at New Road, and all official worcestershire ccc home fixtures which are not televised. at the moment the working assumption is that all fixtures will be behind closed doors, however should that change priority will be given to those who have opted for our exclusive 2020 membership.

we look forward to updating members further in the coming week. thank you again for your support of our club.

with best wishes
