MORE MAGIC FROM SARAH AS ENGLAND WOMEN REACH SEMI-FINALS

MORE MAGIC FROM SARAH AS ENGLAND WOMEN REACH SEMI-FINALS

Sarah Glenn played another major part with the ball as England Women defeated West Indies Women by 46 runs in Sydney to reach the semi-finals of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

The Worcestershire Women’s Rapids spinner continued her good return with a return of 2-16 – including a maiden – from her four overs.

It helped England to bowl out the West Indies for 97 in 17.1 overs with their third win in four games.

Glenn followed up her 3-15 against Pakistan Women with another impressive performance.

She again came into the attack after the initial powerplay for the seventh over.

Glenn enjoyed her first success in her second over when Hayley Matthews (10) was deceived by a flighted delivery which hit leg stump.

The 20-year-old struck again in her next over when Chedean Nation (0) on the back foot wafted at a delivery and was given out caught behind after England reviewed the initial not out decision.

Glenn could have picked up a third wicket in her final over when Lee-Ann Kirby was dropped by Natalie Sciver at square leg off a skier.

With fellow spinner Sophie Ecclestone (3-7 in 3.1 overs) also sparkling with the ball, England wrapped up a convincing win.

Earlier Sciver – 57 off 56 balls – and Amy Jones – 23 not out off 13 deliveries – helped England to total 143-5.
