COUNTY SPINNER TWOHIG MAKES USEFUL 27 AS SOUTHERN DISTRICTS RECOVER

Ben Twohig made 27 as Southern Districts batted throughout the first day of the South Australia Cricket Association first grade encounter with Sturt.

The Worcestershire player came in at number five at 39-3 and struck four boundaries in his 52 ball knock.

Twohig was sixth out with the total on 93, lbw to new ball bowler Daniel Clarke, but Southern Districts recovered to reach 237-8 off 96 overs.

His County colleague, Ben Cox, was unavailable after his call-up into the England Lions squad.

Josh Dell was denied the opportunity to bat by the weather as day two of Mosman CC’s New South Wales Premier Cricket first grade match with Gordon CC was abandoned due to rain.

Gordon had scored 249 in 93.1 overs on day one with Dell collecting two catches.

Hamish Rutherford suffered the same fate when skippering New Zealand ‘A’ against India’ A’ at Lincoln.

Worcestershire’s 2020 overseas signing had scored 40 of New Zealand’s 276-5 on day one but rain washed out today.
