COUNTY SPINNER TWOHIG HELPS UNLEY TO REACH T20 QUARTER-FINALS

Ben Twohig’s side, Unley CC, are through to the quarter finals of the Adelaide Cricket Association T20 competition.

The Worcestershire CCC spinner helped Unley secure a three wicket win over Woodville in a low-scoring encounter.

They will now face an away tie with Flinders Park in the last eight tie on Tuesday, February 4.

Twohig was given the new ball and bowled three tidy overs for 18 runs as Woodville were restricted to 106-7.

Unley also found runs hard to come by after reaching 62-2 at one stage.

Twohig, batting at number four, was dismissed for seven but Unley got over the finishing line with eight balls to spare on 109-7.

The 21-year-old will return to action along with County colleague, Ben Cox, on Saturday for Southern Districts.

They will take on East Torrens on day one of a two-day South Australia Cricket Association first grade match.
