During the series Moeen completed a half century of wickets in Test cricket.
He finished with one more wicket than fellow spinner Adil Rashid whose eight wickets cost 69.50 runs each.
Anderson confirmed his position as England's number one bowler with 13 wickets at 15.67 in unhelpful conditions and an economy rate of just 1.87 runs per over.
Moeen was promoted to open the batting and finished with 84 runs from six innings at an average of 14.
His top score was 35 in the first innings of the first Test when he figured in a century stand with skipper Alastair Cook.
