WICKET AND RUN OUT FOR SARAH ON ENGLAND T20I DEBUT

WICKET AND RUN OUT FOR SARAH ON ENGLAND T20I DEBUT

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids player Sarah Glenn marked her England T20I debut with a wicket and instigating a run out in a 29 run success over Pakistan in Kuala Lumpur today.

The leg spinner returned figures of 1-25 from her four overs as Pakistan were bowled out for 125 in pursuit of England’s 154-4 at the Kinrara Oval.

It followed on from Glenn’s eight wickets in three ODIs for her country against Pakistan last week.

She came into the attack today in the seventh over immediately after the completion of the powerplay.

Glenn conceded only four runs in her first over and then broke through in her second when she held onto a return catch from Aliya Riaz (5).

After an initial three over spell, Glenn returned to complete her spell in the 16th over and her final figures would have been even better but for a delivery which cost five wides.

Glenn then made an impact in the field in running out number 10, Syeda Aroob Shah, for a duck as Pakistan were bowled out in 18.4 overs.

Amy Jones top-scored with 53 for England, who won the ODI series 2-0 with one game abandoned, after they had been put into bat.

The second T20I will take place on Thursday.
