HAYNES AND ENGLAND UNDER-19S WIN TRI-SERIES ENCOUNTER

Jack Haynes was part of the England Under-19s side which defeated their West Indies counterparts by 29 runs in the Tri-Series match staged at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound.

Victory gave England revenge for a 36 run setback against the host nation at the same venue on Friday.

Worcestershire batsman Haynes came to the wicket today with England 19-2 in the eighth over.

He made a patient 15 off 40 balls with one boundary in adding 44 for the third wicket with Tom Clark (34).

Haynes was fourth out with the total on 64 in the 20th over and England were 114-8 at one stage.

But a ninth wicket stand of 55 between Dan Mousley (48) and Scott Currie (22 not out) lifted the final total to 169 all out in 49.4 overs.

West Indies reached 74-2 in reply but then lost wickets at regular intervals and were bowled out for 140 in 36.4 overs.

George Balderson (4-47) and Kasey Aldridge (3-32) were the main wicket-takers for England.
