MOEEN’S FIRST T10 LEAGUE APPEARANCE ENDS IN A TIE

Moeen Ali’s first ever taste of the T10 League in Abu Dhabi ended in a tie.

The Worcestershire CCC and England all-rounder skippered Team Abu Dhabi who shared the honours with Qalandars.

Moeen, who is his side’s ‘Icon Player’, batted at number three and struck a six off the bowling of George Garton.

But after making seven from four balls he was dismissed by Seekkuge Prasanna with Tom Banton taking the catch.

Moeen was second out with the total on 42 in the fourth over and 43 off 22 deliveries from Corey Anderson helped Team Abu Dhabi total 103-6.

Dawid Malan made 33 off 18 balls for the Qalandars but the task of scoring nine from the final over by Marchant de Lange was just beyond them and they closed on 103-3.

Moeen opted not to bowl in Team Abu Dhabi’s opening game.

Worcestershire team-mates Pat Brown and Ross Whiteley will be in action tomorrow for Karnataka Tuskers versus Delhi Bulls.
