RAPIDS OVERSEAS PLAYER GUPTILL HELPS BLACK CAPS LEVEL SERIES

Worcestershire CCC T20 players past and present helped New Zealand to a 21 run victory in the second T20I against England at Wellington.

Martin Guptill, a key part of the Rapids squad which won the Vitality Blast in 2018 and finished runners-up this year, top-scored in the Black Caps total of 176-8.

He went in first and raced to 41 off 28 balls with two sixes and three fours before he was caught off a top edge at deep square leg from a delivery by Adil Rashid.

New Zealand totalled 176-8 in their 20 overs.

Pat Brown, who made an encouraging T20I debut in Christchurch when he dismissed Ross Taylor, bowled two overs for 32 runs.

But the Worcestershire paceman was denied the second scalp of his international career when James Vince dropped a comfortable chance offered by Tim Seifert in the covers.

England were dismissed for 155 off 19.5 overs in reply as the home side levelled the series.

Mitchell Santner, the Rapids T20 player in 2016 and 2017, returned the fine figures of 4-0-25-3. Brown ended unbeaten on four.
