HAMISH SET FOR HOME CHAMPIONSHIP DEBUT AGAINST GLAMORGAN

hamish rutherford will make his home specsavers county championship debut in the encounter with glamorgan at New Road beginning tomorrow.

the new zealand batsman has rejoined the county after being called up by his country for the third and final t20i against sri lanka in kandy on friday.

it meant he was unavailable for the rapids superb eight wicket win over sussex sharks in a vitality blast quarter-final on friday evening.

rutherford made a single championship appearance during his early season spell with worcestershire, scoring 123 in his single innings at the fischer county ground.

the county have to make a total of three changes from the side which was last in championship action at northampton in mid august.

callum ferguson (personal reasons) has flown back to australia and wayne parnell and josh tongue are unavailable through illness and injury respectively.

in addition to rutherford, pace duo charlie morris and adam finch return to the starting line-up.
