worcestershire rapids will select from a 14 strong squad for this evening’s top of the table vitality blast clash with durham jets at New Road (4.30pm start).
moeen ali and callum ferguson rejoin the squad alongside new signing wayne parnell after the south african all-rounder joined up with the rapids earlier this week.
ferguson and parnell replace the departed martin guptill and travis head in the rapids two overseas slots in the blast.
moeen will resume the captaincy after being unavailable because of england commitments for sunday’s home game with lancashire lightning which was ultimately was washed out without a ball being bowled.
the jets have moved into pole position in the north group courtesy of yesterday evening’s triumph over northamptonshire steelbacks at the emirates riverside.
they are one point ahead of the rapids and defeated them by seven wickets when the two sides met a fortnight ago.
the recent meetings at New Road between the two counties in the t20 blast have produced plenty of runs and centuries.
in 2016 tom kohler-cadmore hit 127 – the county’s record individual score in the competition – out of the rapids 225-6.
then last summer paul collingwood struck 108 not out of the jets 201-2 – their highest total in the fixture – only for joe clarke to reply with 124 not out as the rapids chased down that target.
