joe clarke’s back to back centuries against surrey and essex have elevated him into the upper echelons of the division one leading run-scorers in the specsavers county championship.
the england lions player will be looking to continue in the same vein when the county switch from royal london one-day cup back to championship action against lancashire at New Road starting on wednsday (11am start).
he is currently placed in 10th position with 352 runs at an average of 39.11.
clarke has scored a total of 11 first class hundreds in 52 matches – a strike rate of better than a century ever five games.
there has also been a fine all-round contribution from ed barnard.
he has has amassed 252 runs at an average of 31.50 and shown his importance to the team as a lower order batsman.
barnard has also chipped in with 18 wickets at 24.27, predominantly as first change bowler.
