WORCESTERSHIRE KEEPER-BATTER HENRY CULLEN PASSES 500 RUN MARK FOR PLENTY VALLEY

Worcestershire keeper-batter Henry Cullen has passed 500 runs for Plenty Valley in the Victoria Cricket Association and is in the top five of run-scorers in the entire tournament for 2022-2023.

Cullen lifted his run tally for Plenty Valley to 512 in VCA one-day and two-day matches when scoring 30 in the weekend success over Ivanhoe CC before being run out.

His runs have come in 12 knocks at an average of 46.55 and a strike rate of 176.66 with five sixes and 50 fours.

The 19-year-old is comfortably Plenty Valley’s leading scorer ahead of Naman Sharma (394) and Alex Cole (235).

But in the list of the competition’s overall leading run-getters, Cullen is also in fourth position.

Only Aaron Ayre (Coburg CC), 571, Adam Bull (Ormond CC), 528, and Aaron Shellie (Coburg CC), 513, have scored more than Cullen this winter.

Cullen will play for Plenty Valley for another month before flying back to New Road on March 12 to continue his preparations for the new campaign.

He signed his first rookie professional contract with Worcestershire last summer and played in three One-Day Cup matches.
