WORCESTERSHIRE CCC CONDOLENCES AS FORMER PLAYER DONALD HARKNESS PASSES AWAY

Worcestershire CCC are sad to announce that their former player, Donald Harkness, has passed away at the age of 90.

New South Wales born Harkness played 13 matches for Worcestershire during the 1954 season.

The left handed batsman made his debut against Oxford University and achieved his highest score of 163, batting at number five, against Cambridge University at New Road in June.

Harkness, who was also a right arm paceman, returned his best bowling figures of 3-29 against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.

He scored a total of 488 runs at an average of 25.68 and picked up six wickets at 45.66.

Harkness also played Birmingham League cricket for Kidderminster.
