WOMEN’S RAPIDS CAPTAIN SIGNS CONTRACT FOR SOUTH EAST STARS

Worcestershire Women’s Rapids captain, Chloe Hill, is one of four players to have signed for the South-East Stars on a Pay As You Play (PAYP) contract.

She is the third Rapids player to put pen to paper on a contract this winter after Charis Pavely (pro contract) and Ellie Anderson (PAYP contract), both with Central Sparks.

Wicketkeeper-batter Hill spent an initial period on loan to the Stars from Southern Vipers last season.

She played in two matches in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and six in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in which the Stars reached the play-offs.

Hill, 26, made an instant impact with 63 against Northern Diamonds in her initial RHFT appearance at Beckenham.

The contracts started on November 1 and the players have full-time access to the Stars training facilities and coaches whilst giving them the flexibility to continue with other interests in work or further education.

Players will receive match fees once the season starts and these new contracts are being funded directly by the South East Stars.

Emma Calvert, Regional Director of Women’s Cricket, said “We are very excited to have four new players joining the South East Stars this winter on PAYP contracts.

“This is an important step in the growth of our squad and will allow more players than ever access to the amazing coaching and support we now have in place.

“Chloe joined us originally on a loan deal last summer and fitted into the team straight away.

“She is an exciting addition to the squad, and we look forward to seeing what she can do this winter.”

Hill, who also played regional cricket for Central Sparks, said: “I really enjoyed my spell with the Stars last season and am pleased to have been given the PAYP contract.

“I’m looking forward to a winter of hard training and aiming to play a full part for the team next summer in challenging again for honours.”
