TOM TAYLOR AND BEN GIBBON UPDATE

Worcestershire Head Coach Alan Richardson has given an update on the fitness of all-rounder Tom Taylor and pace bowler Ben Gibbon.

Taylor held onto a skied caught and bowled on day two of the Seconds Championship match with Gloucestershire at Kidderminster but in the process was involved in a collision with Gibbon.

Neither of them took any further part in the game which Worcestershire won by 144 runs on the fourth morning.

Richardson said: “For Tommy, it looks like he’s had a bit of a shoulder and a knee issue in the collision.

“We are going to wait for the doctor to have a bit of a look at him, and then he’ll be scanned, and we will find out in the next couple of days as to where we are at.

“It’s a bit of an unknown at the moment to be honest and too soon to tell regarding Friday’s game (against Warwickshire).

“I believe it has settled down a little bit and we will see how he pulls up.

“With Ben, some pretty bad concussion so we will have to go along with the protocols involved with that which could be up to 12 days or even a bit longer.

“It’s unfortunate but these things happen.”
