RAPIDS SIGNING MAKING IMPACT IN BIG BASH

Worcestershire Rapids’ 2024 signing, Usama Mir, is making his mark with the ball for Melbourne Stars in the current Big Bash League in Australia.
The all-rounder thrilled Rapids fans with his performances in the Vitality Blast last summer and topped the batting and bowling averages.
He is returning to New Road for this summer’s tournament and has again showed his quality for the Stars.
Usama heads into the New Year as the Stars most economical bowler and has played an important role in their push for a top four spot.
He has conceded only 6.64 runs per over and has overall figures of 17-0-113-5 from his five appearances in the competition.
Usama was the Stars key bowler with 3-19 in the win over Sydney Sixers and his spell of 4-0-24-1 was also significant in their success over Hobart Hurricanes in their most recent fixture.
Rapids fans will be hoping Usama can reproduce last summer’s stunning form when he returns for the 2024 Blast.
He had their highest strike rate with the bat, scoring 132 at 162.96 and hitting crucial late order runs.
Usama was also the Rapids second highest wicket-taker with 19 at an average of 16.89 and his leg spin was a key part of the attack.
