Pollock to lead seconds on return to Championship action

Worcestershire Seconds return to Championship action this week when they take on Leicestershire Seconds at Kibworth.

But the recent deluges of rain mean the first day has already been washed out and now play is scheduled to get underway on Tuesday.

Ed Pollock will captain the side which includes opener Rehaan Edavalath and middle order batter Olly Cox who are currently studying at Loughborough and Exeter University respectively.

Edavalath scored 72 on his debut for Loughborough against Kent.

Pace bowler Ben Gibbon is available after undertaking the concussion protocols following his collision with Tom Taylor during the previous Seconds match against Gloucestershire at Kidderminster.

Recent signing, Yadvinder Singh, will be looking to continue the form he demonstrated against Gloucestershire when he picked up six wickets.

The side includes triallist pace bowler, Harry Petrie, and a trio of former Academy players in Joe Stanley, Reeve Evitts and Ismail Mohammed.
