Ollie Westbury signed off for the festive season with yet another fine knock in T20 cricket.
The Worcestershire batsman struck 57 for Grafton United in their Auckland Premier Men’s Cricket T20 encounter with Auckland University.
But his own excellent individual effort again proved in vain as Grafton went down by 21 runs.
Westbury struck five boundaries in his 53 ball innings after opening as Grafton attempted to chase down their opponents 141-4.
But no-one else made a sizeable contribution as Grafton were restricted to 120-6 – their fourth defeat in five T20 matches.
Westbury was fourth out at 92 in the 17th over.
In the penultimate game before the Christmas-New Year break, Westbury had experienced a rare failure in the four wicket defeat against Howick Pakuranga.
He was dismissed for nine – including one six – as Grafton were restricted to 140-5 – a total Howick surpassed with 11 balls to spare.
