HOSE TOP SCORES FOR VIPERS IN OPENING ILT20 FIXTURE

Adam Hose top-scored for Desert Vipers in their opening match of the ILT20 tournament against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in Dubai.

The Worcestershire batter hit 45 off just 30 balls with one six and four fours after the Vipers had been put into bat.

It was Hose’s first innings since helping Adelaide Strikers qualify for the knockout stages of the Big Bash League.

He came to the wicket at 44-2 in the fifth over after the dismissal of Vipers captain and ex Worcestershire Rapids player, Colin Munro (22).

Hose added 57 for the fourth wicket with Wanindu Hasaranga (24).

He struck Josh Little for a maximum over deep mid wicket and in the same over also hit two fours.

Hose was eventually caught behind off Ali Khan when he was fourth out with the total 126 in the 14th over.

He was initially given not out but the Knight Riders reviewed and the replay showed a spike on the back of the bat.

Hose also chipped in with a catch to dismiss Laurie Evans (21) off Tymal Mills but the Knight Riders chased down a total of 164-8 with 2.2 overs to spare to win by six wickets.

The Vipers are next in action on Wednesday against Gulf Giants, also in Dubai.
