CORNALL HITS HALF CENTURY FOR ACADEMY IN WIN OVER HEREFORDSHIRE

Taylor Cornall made an appearance for the Worcestershire CCC Academy (Under-18) side and hit a half century in a four wicket victory over Herefordshire Under-18s in a 50 over friendly encounter at Kidderminster.

With the Seconds not in action for almost two weeks, the Worcestershire newcomer was able to spend some useful time in the middle in making 52 from 76 balls with nine fours before retiring out.

Cornall put on 59 for the first wicket with Ollie Walker (16) and a further 36 with Ismail Mohammed (14) before ending his innings with the total 95-2.

Oliver Halion (34 not out from 62 deliveries with five boundaries) then ensured Worcestershire reached their 155 target with five balls to spare.
Earlier, Worcestershire captain, spinner Josh Dickenson, had returned fine figures of 10-2-32-3 and helped bring about a major collapse.

Herefordshire had reached 68-1 in the 19th over after opting to bat but then six wickets fell for 16 runs.

Ed Bragg struck twice in the space of three overs, including dismissing opener and top scorer Jujhar Singh (33).

Dickenson then applied the pressure as Herefordshire collapsed to 84-7 before Joe Stanley (10-4-36-2) picked up the final two wickets in a total of 154 all out in 46.2 overs.

Bragg finished with 7-1-12-2 with Reeve Evitts (6.2-0-25-1), Cameron Jones (7-1-31-1) and Gohar Nisar (6-1-14-1) the other wicket-takers.
