BIRMINGHAM PREMIER LEAGUE ROUND-UP

Kadeer Ali produced an excellent all-round performance for Birmingham and District Premier League champions Smethwick who defeated Wolverhampton by 120 runs.

Worcestershire’s Assistant Head Coach struck 80 off 110 balls with two sixes and nine fours in a Smethwick total of 210 all out after they had been 166-2 at one stage.

His spin then brought him figures of 6-1-15-3 as Wolverhampton were dismissed for 90 in 30 overs.

Academy player, Ollie Walker, was also in fine form with bat and ball for Himley but ended on the losing side against Leamington.

Walker shared the new ball and finished with 9-0-48-3 in a Leamington total of 223-7 from 50 overs.

He then top scored batting at number four with a defiant 33 off 71 balls with four boundaries but Himley were bowled out for 102.

Another Academy player in Ben Clarke was amongst the wickets for Barnards Green against Moseley.

The spinner produced an analysis of 9.1-2-17-4 as Moseley were dismissed for 141 but it was a total that proved sufficient as Barnard Green could only manage 78 in reply.

Reeve Evitts made a run a ball 40 for Kenilworth Wardens in a total of 259-7 and they bowled out Ombersley for 192 with Taylor Cornall making 24.
