Ben Cox’s Testimonial Committee is staging a ‘T20 Blast from The Past’ evening, reliving the Worcestershire Rapids memorable title triumph in 2018, as the next event in his Testimonial Year.
It will take place on Friday, May 5 in the Chestnut Marquee at the end of day two of the LV=Insurance County Championship match with Sussex – Worcestershire’s opponents in the T20 final.
The event will get underway at 7.15pm and includes a Pie and Chips supper.
Ben was player of the match in the Rapids semi-final win over Lancashire Lightning and the final triumph over the Sussex Sharks.
There will be a video re-run at the event evening of both of those games and chats with Worcestershire players involved during that unforgettable day in the club’s history.
The opportunity will also be there to have photos taken with the T20 Blast Trophy, and there will be a raffle and auction, which will include Ben Cox Memorabilia from the 2018 finals day.
Ben Cox said: “I hope the evening will give a greater background into what was actually happening on the field that day.
“It was the first time we’d ever won it, so hopefully, we can get a turn-out and celebrate what was an incredible day, and I’d like to go back there and have another go at it.
“We’ve got the T20 trophy coming back. We are going to have interviews with players, and I’ll be on stage talking through my point of view from the day.”
