ACADEMY CONTINUE BID FOR CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE AT KIDDERMINSTER

Worcestershire Academy (Under-18s) continue their bid to retain their ECB Under-18 County Championship Group Two title when they take on Cricket Wales in a three-day fixture at Kidderminster starting tomorrow (Tuesday).

They are currently joint top of the table after three games after defeating Warwickshire at Portland Road, Edgbaston and drawing with Somerset at Barnt Green and Northamptonshire at Desborough.

Included in the Academy side are batter Fin Goodman, keeper-batter Seth Essenhigh and bowler Toby Cox who all played for the Midlands in the recent ECB Bunbury Festival at the National Performance Centre, Loughborough.

Pace bowler Harry Darley, who has been part of the senior squad for the Metro Bank One Day Cup, is also named in a 12 strong group.

Worcestershire have a bye next week before concluding their County Championship campaign against Gloucestershire at Bath from August 29 to 31.

Joe Stanley will skipper the side with play at Kidderminster getting underway each day at 11am.
