WORCESTERSHIRE TRIP TO FACE WALES IN 2024 NCCA SHOWCASE GAME

Worcestershire will take on Wales National County in their 2024 NCCA Showcase Game on Sunday, July 21 at Sudbrook Cricket Club.

The annual fixture involves all 18 first class counties taking on National Counties opposition and also provides valuable 50 over cricket for Worcestershire ahead of the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Worcestershire were due to face Herefordshire at Eastnor in 2020 as part of the initial round of NCCA Showcase games before it was called off because of the pandemic.

But they then faced their near neighbours during the following two years, winning by seven wickets at New Road in 2021 and four wickets at Eastnor 12 months later on a glorious sunny afternoon.

Last summer Worcestershire faced different opposition in Shropshire at Shrewsbury CC and debutant Harry Darley picked up three wickets as the home county were bowled out for 124.

But rain then intervened during the interval between innings and the match was abandoned.

Wales finished third in Division Two of the National Counties Western Division Two in 2023 behind Cornwall and Wiltshire.

Sudbrook is a village in South East Wales, four miles to the south west of Chepstow and it lies close to the second Severn Crossing on the Severn Estuary.
