OVERSEAS ROUND-UP 13.11.2023

Josh Baker was again amongst the wickets for Northern District CC on day two of their North South Wales grade two encounter with Randwick Petersham CC

The Worcestershire spinner chipped in with 17 off 12 balls batting at number seven as Northern District extended their first innings to 315-9 declared from 82.5 overs.

He then picked up two catches at slip to remove the Randwick Petersham openers before coming into the attack first change.

Baker returned the excellent figures of 8-4-9-3 as Randwick Petersham were bowled out for 109 in 38.5 overs.

It followed on from his five wickets in the innings victory over Adelaide CC.

There was just time for Randwick Petersham to reach 48-1 from 16 overs in their second innings with Baker bowling three overs for 10 runs.

Ed Pollock was on the winning side for St. George CC but did not have the chance to bat as his side chased down a 251 target and won by eight wickets in a New South Wales first grade fixture.

Ethan Brookes picked up two wickets for Prahran CC on the opening day of the two-day Victorian Premier League first grade meeting with Richmond CC.

Worcestershire newcomer Brookes had scored a century last weekend against Northcote but this time showed his ability with the ball.

He came on second change and dismissed Will Parker – caught and bowled – and Andrew Humphries to help reduce Richmond to 82-5.

Brookes had figures of 6-0-15-2 and Richmond were eventually bowled out for 207 in 84.2 overs with Prahran 3-1 at the close in a match to be concluded next weekend.

Gareth Roderick took a break from action this weekend as his side, Green Point CC, (199-3) defeated Primrose CC (197) by seven wickets in a Western Province Premier Division 50 over fixture.
