ENGLAND LEGEND SIR GEOFF BOYCOTT IS SOCIETY GUEST SPEAKER

England and Yorkshire legend, Sir Geoffrey Boycott, will be the guest speaker of the Worcestershire Cricket Society in the Graeme Hick Pavilion on Tuesday 31 October (7.30pm start).

It follows on from Barry Richards and Glenn McGrath being recent high profile speakers of the Society outside of the normal winter cricket evenings programme.

Boycott played 108 Tests for England and was the leading scorer in Test cricket when he made his final appearance in 1982 with 8,114 at an average of 47.72 with 18 hundreds.

He was past the age of 45 when he hung up his spikes in 1986 with 48,246 first class runs to his credit at an average of 56.83 with 151 centuries.

This is a Society members only event, with no guests able to attend, and a strict capacity limit of 200 and already around 160 tickets have been snapped up.

Places must be reversed in advance, with an additional £10 payment to cover the costs, via Society Secretary, Mike Hitchings (email mikehitchings@aol.com or phone 07979 464715).
