DURHAM COACH LOOKING TO KEEP FOOT ON THE GAS AGAINST LEICESTERSHIRE

Durham Head Coach Ryan Campbell has promised Worcestershire supporters that his side will produce their A-game against Leicestershire at the Seat Unique Riverside.

The Foxes are the only side who can mathematically overhaul Worcestershire in the battle for the second promotion spot in Division Two of the LV Insurance County Championship.

Durham have already clinched promotion and the Division Two title after their draw with Worcestershire at New Road last week.

But Campbell insists Durham will be fully focused on ending the season on a high note.

He said: “During last week’s game, I had a couple of the Worcestershire faithful asking for Durham to roll over and give their side the points.

“I said to them ‘I can’t do that’ but what I can promise them is that Durham won’t be taking their foot off the accelerator against Leicestershire.

“We’ve had a core membership, long suffering some might say, and we want to put on a show for them in the last game of the season.

“We want to raise the trophy on a good day, not after a disappointing bowing out.

“I can promise the Worcestershire people, that Durham will be coming with their ‘A’ game and looking to win and win well.

“If Leicestershire want to challenge us, they are going to have to be up for it.”
