SECONDS WIN MOST GAMES IN A SEASON FOR 24 YEARS

Worcestershire Seconds have registered their most wins in a season in the Championship for 24 years.

They triumphed in 6 of their 10 four-day fixtures equalling their performance during the 1999 campaign.

It meant they finished in third position for the first time since 2017 when the competition was split into two divisions.

Worcestershire registered victories over Derbyshire, Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire, Glamorgan, Nottinghamshire and Somerset.

Their only two setbacks came in two closely fought encounters with Lancashire at Kidderminster and Crosby CC, Liverpool.

Worcestershire finished with a total of 136 points, including five for the game against Warwickshire which was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

When they won six matches in 1999, Worcestershire finished joint sixth.
