LIBBY CONTINUES SUPERB FORM WITH BAT IN ONE DAY CUP

Jake Libby has continued his superb form in the LV=Insurance County Championship during the Metro Bank One-day Cup campaign and finished as Worcestershire Rapids highest run scorer during the group stages.

The Rapids One Day Cup captain scored 327 runs at an average of 65.4 with three half centuries.

Libby hit his top score of 86 against Gloucestershire at New Road and followed that up with 82 not out versus Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Wantage Road and 73 against Derbyshire at the Incora County Ground. The skipper has also impressed in the field, leading the team with two run outs and five catches.

It followed on from his current tally of 909 County Championship runs at an average of 56.81 with three centuries and four fifties.

Libby’s combined run tally for the summer so far is 1236 at 61.1.

Two other Rapids front-line batters averaged above 50 in Kashif Ali (53.2) and Azhar Ali (51.8)

On the bowling front, Josh Baker (15) and Dillon Pennington (11) have been the main wicket-takers with Pat Brown topping the averages with 8 wickets at 20.12.
