RAPIDS AWAY TO HAMPSHIRE IN QUARTER-FINALS OF ONE-DAY CUP

Worcestershire Rapids will travel to take on Hampshire in the Metro Bank One Day Cup quarter-finals at the Ageas Bowl on Sunday (August 27).

The Rapids finished third in Group B behind Gloucestershire, who moved above them on net run rate by defeating Durham at Bristol today.

They ended with 12 points and six wins from their eight group games after playing some superb 50-over cricket during the past three weeks.

Hampshire finished runners-up to Leicestershire in Group A.

Worcestershire One Day Cup captain Jake Libby said: “We have played some excellent cricket so far in this competition and deserve to have reached the knockout stages.

“We know we have to maintain those standards throughout the rest of the tournament to be successful, and Hampshire are a quality side.

“But it’s great to be in contention for a trophy and also to gain promotion in the County Championship, heading into the final month or so of the season.”
