JACK HAYNES TO DEPART WORCESTERSHIRE AT THE END OF THE 2023 SEASON

Worcestershire County Cricket Club can confirm that batsman Jack Haynes will be leaving the club at the conclusion of the 2023 season to join Nottinghamshire.

22-year-old Haynes, an academy product, who made his first-class debut for Worcestershire against the Australian touring side in 2019, had previously made his debut in the list A format during the previous summer against West Indies A.

His development at Worcestershire has earned him representation at the international level, having played for England Under 19’s and featuring in England Lions’ tour of Sri Lanka last winter.

Jack Haynes commented, “The decision to leave my home club has been a very difficult one for me . I leave behind a host of special memories from playing on the boundary as a young boy, coming up through the age groups, to taking the field now with guys I grew up with.

“I’d like to thank everyone at New Road who has supported me along the way – teammates, coaches, and supporters. I’ve loved playing for Worcestershire, and it will always be a special place for me and my family.

“I send my best wishes to everyone at the club for 2024 and beyond.”

Worcestershire’s Chief Executive Officer Ashley Giles added, “It is always disappointing to see a player nurtured by our own pathway and academy leave the Club.

“We would like to take this opportunity to wish Jack every success in the future.”
