Worcestershire County Cricket Club are inviting expressions of interest for female cricketers wishing to explore opportunities to play senior county cricket.
We are pleased to confirm that our 2023 Women’s Open Trial will take place at New Road on Monday 31, July for a 10.00 welcome in the Graeme Hick Pavilion.
Staff from Worcestershire CCC and Central Sparks will welcome you to New Road and provide an insight into the life of a professional cricketer in the Women’s Regional game. As well as staff from both Worcestershire and Central Sparks, the Club are hopeful several players from both Worcestershire’s senior side and Central Sparks will be with us.
The intention of the day is to create a positive image of the game and Worcestershire, plus provide players with an opportunity to speak with staff and players in the women’s game. We believe these people are some of the best role models an aspiring cricketer could wish to meet.
Following the welcome, there will be opportunities to practice at the iconic New Road. The ground is widely regarded as one of the most picturesque grounds in world cricket. You will have the opportunity to participate in nets and fielding games. The Club sees the day as a coaching opportunity over an assessment/trial day. All staff will interact and coach you throughout the day and will be there for support and advice.
The Club envisages the day running till 14.00, and the ground will be open to you for the remainder of the day to have a tour following the completion of the Open Trial.
