Worcestershire won the toss, and 63 from Don Kenyon helped them total 233 all out in 90.1 overs.
He put on 63 for the first wicket, with Peter Richardson (35), George Dews (33), and Reg Perks (44) were the other main contributors.
Clifford Gladwin (4-59) was Derbyshire’s most successful bowler, and then the leg-spin of Roly Jenkins earned Worcestershire a first innings lead of 55.
Jenkins returned 27.2-6-64-5 as Derbyshire were bowled out for 178 in 77.2 overs.
Worcestershire were bowled out for 96 in their second innings, Richardson top-scoring with 20 and Herbert Jackson finishing with 5-35.
Derbyshire were left a 152 target on the actual Coronation Day (Tuesday May 2) and were 42-3 at one stage.
Jenkins also added three more wickets to end with match figures of 38-11-88-8, but opener Arnold Hamer’s 57 helped Derbyshire to a three wicket win.
